Managing a Special Needs Trust: A Guide for Trustees (DisABILITIESBOOKS,2010) is a clear, understandable reference guide for anyone who is managing a special needs trust for a person with a developmental disability (beneficiary) and/or working with families on future planning. Using layman’s terms, the book explains how trust funds can be used to enrich a beneficiary’s quality of life by paying for some goods and services (e.g., vacations, clothes, recreation, special therapies) without risking the benefits of complicated government programs such as Supplemental Sercurity Income (SSI), Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), Medicaid, and Section 8 housing.
